Craftsmanship passed down from generation to generation
In Nicaragua, hammock manufacturing takes place within small and micro-economic units managed and operated by the owner and/or family members, who, in their own interest, are responsible for the management and operation of the business. This hammock is made in Masaya, which is the main production center for hammocks in Nicaragua. The manufacturing method is passed down from generation to generation. A hammock made of thick cotton thread
The production process of the handmade XL hammock begins when the thread is twisted to be transformed into manila of different sizes. The process is known as "torcido" (twisting) and will allow the thread to tighten and gain strength. This operation is performed manually using a wooden wheel. The body of the hammock, woven primarily by men, offers maximum comfort in a lying position. The extra thick ropes allow your back to fit perfectly, ensuring an ideal position once found.
Elaboration of the XL hammock on a loom
The thread is then wound onto a loom, which allows the hammock to be woven lengthwise using a kind of large wooden needle; the thread is woven into a wide piece that will form the body of the hammock.
A stylish XL hammock for a traditional and chic look

A tribute to the legend of the Santiago crater
The Santiago crater of the Masaya volcano is one of the 7 active volcanoes in Nicaragua with 18 recorded acts of activity since 1520. Revered by the indigenous people who consulted a witch inside, the Spanish conquerors called this volcano "mouth of hell" and placed a cross to evoke the devil and exorcise the demon.
