What if you travel to Nicaragua one day?

When you visit Nicaragua, you can bring back several local items. Here are some suggestions:
Jewelry, (Nicaragua is home to many gold mines), clothing such as guayaberas, (traditional embroidered shirts worn by men on special occasions) or huipiles, (long cotton dresses in solid colors and adorned with flowers. You will also find handmade Masaya leather shoes, cigars (Nicaragua is renowned for its high-quality cigars), traditional pottery adorned with Amerindian motifs, Nicaraguan rum is renowned for its quality. Be sure to taste different varieties and choose a bottle to bring back, and finally, hammocks.

The hammock: The artisanal symbol of Nicaragua

We strongly recommend visiting a hammock factory. There you will discover local artisans and their incredible craftsmanship. You will notice how much Nicaraguans appreciate their hammock chairs. They use them not only for relaxation but also as an alternative to traditional chairs. In many homes, you can see hammock chairs hanging in the corners of rooms or on terraces.
