Selva Negra, established in 1975 in the heart of the Matagalpa mountains, represents a unique place. Nestled in a region steeped in coffee culture, it is located near magnificent hills draped in preserved rainforest. The descendants of 19th-century German colonists are the owners of this estate. German influence is still evident in the architecture of the rooms and the restaurant, adorned with numerous historical relics such as period photographs, press articles, tools, and other artifacts testifying to the colonists' evolution towards coffee production.
